Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and will shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home by using a combined gross family earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined residence revenue does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan nsfas status check Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the correct Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored of their South African ID.

NSFAS only here funds people who are researching or intend to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
